Alexandra pugh

Alexandra Pugh’s work is based around her interpretation of pattern, colour and the inviting textures found within a rural landscape. Through her panoramic compositions, which are inspired by her own experience of the landscape as well as work by Malvern photographers, she explores ways of evoking a sense of place and atmosphere rather than a direct representation of the landscape. Using dry pastel, graphite, acrylic, charcoal and watercolour to create an intensity of colour and tone, Pugh tries to show the Malvern landscape in its best and most exciting palette, reflecting the views Malvern locals experience daily.
