Alice Young

Alice Young’s practice explores the representation of the female form and the changes a woman’s body goes through during a lifetime. Using fabric as a language to explain these changes, and the patterns and texture that can be found within bodily transformation, she draws from her own experience and translates her ideas into garments that explore print, embellishment and the cut of the fabric. Young aims to highlight the changes a woman’s body undergoes with fabric rather than using fabric to cover them, showing the viewer that it is the difference within each female form that is beautiful.
