Cassie Ireland

The relationship between maker and object plays a large role in Irelands work helping her to form the alter egos that influence her practice. The use of narrative and secrecy is crucial, encouraging the audience to question the story behind the work. In her practice Ireland blurs the boundaries between craft and fine art, often switching between approaches. Her focus is to imbue the work with moral human and material values that perform within the work in unexpected ways.
