Clare Thatcher

Clare Thatcher’s work focuses on interpreting place in particular rural and urban locations, where the question is of the land and the understanding of an ever-changing landscape. An important part of her work is painting and drawing on location and obtaining a sense of place. Thatcher uses drawing as her primary methodology as a discovery of information, questioning the record of the visible, a snapshot of that moment in the place, a piece of work in its self or a study to be used for other works. Her influences are what she see’s, feels and experiences in her location.
