Jayne Sargeson
Jayne Sargeson’s work explores a sense of place, specifically ideas surrounding home and family. Her work is an ongoing experimentation of colour and form using typically domesticated processes, focusing on triangles as a method of understanding personal relationships. New materials and the tactile nature of found objects that can inspire, and be incorporated into projects heavily influence the artist. The constraints and complexities of relationships inform new ideas and concepts. Sargeson uses an initial exploratory phase of stitch, embroidery and paint as a way to learn through drawing and this feeds into 3D sculptures.
