Liz Harding

Liz Harding’s work investigates the fragility of life, the ageing process and finality of death. Within this she plays with ideas of control and lets this play out within the media she investigates. Harding uses a range of media in her practice, but with a main focus on metals because of their individual properties and the unique interactions that can be found when using a specific type of metal in conjunction with everyday substances, like oil or vinegar. Harding encourages the viewer to reflect on the complexity of life, our bodies as matter, its strength and weaknesses, the transitions and deteriorations of age and illness, the power struggles we encounter in our daily lives.
