Robyn Welford

Robyn Welford focuses on making portraits of the people in her life who affect her. In order to portray the subject as she perceives them, she uses print methods to mimic depths of shadow and light. Using various tools and materials to create her marks she constructs layers of tone and energetic movement within her 2D plates and prints. The large-scale nature of her work emphasizes her connection with her chosen subjects, intending to present power in scale, yet innocence with mark making and composition.
